The course aims at facilitating knowledge and understanding of students about rural life situation, rurality through exposure to Indian villages; enabling students to critically examine rural poverty, rural social structure and its impact on children; helping students to understand governance structures, role and functions in village administration-ICDS, NREGA, NRHM, SSA and overall development programmes ICPS; equipping students critically engage with children, children’s organizations and gain an understanding of interventions for children and families and helping to engage the self and develop sensitivity and basic understanding of issues concerning children and families in rural India.
